How does FlowMoose work?

You hold a keyboard shortcut (fn by default), speak, and release. FlowMoose records your voice locally, transcribes it using Whisper, cleans up the text with a small on-device LLM, and pastes the result into whatever app or text field you were focused on.

Does FlowMoose send my voice to the cloud?

No. All processing happens on your Mac. Your audio is never sent to any server and is deleted immediately after transcription.

FlowMoose runs on any Mac with Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.

What AI model does FlowMoose use?

FlowMoose uses OpenAI’s Whisper (ggml format, multilingual) for transcription. The model runs embedded in the app — no subprocess, no external runtime, no cloud.
